North Africa – Morocco 11-Day Panorama Tour

Tour members will gather at Toronto Airport and board a deluxe international flight bound for Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco.

Upon arrival in Casablanca, continue to Morocco’s capital city, Rabat (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012) for a city tour. Visit the Royal Palace, which blends Arab and Andalusian architectural styles, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, Morocco’s father of independence, renowned for its intricately engraved bronze geometric designs—an outstanding example of Arab architectural art. Guests may also take photos with the Royal Guard at the mausoleum. See the 44-metre-high Hassan Tower and the remains of over 300 columns nearby. After lunch, proceed to the coastal city of Tangier. Known for its diverse culture, Tangier lies at the crossroads of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, holding the gateway to the Strait of Gibraltar, with Spain’s coastline only about 20 kilometers away.

After breakfast, drive to Chefchaouen, one of the world’s three renowned blue cities. Its charming blue-painted streets, doors, and buildings offer a romantic, photogenic setting.

Then visit Tetouan, the “White City,” known for its almost entirely whitewashed architecture and UNESCO status.

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996). Visit the unfinished Royal Palace, modeled after France’s Versailles, and admire the 25-kilometre-long city walls. See the grand Mansour Gate, decorated in green and white glazed tiles, as well as the beautiful and majestic Sultan’s Mausoleum. Continue to Volubilis (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997) to explore the Roman ruins dating back to the 3rd century BC, once the administrative centre of the Roman Empire in North Africa, featuring magnificent Roman architecture and exquisite mosaic artwork.

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to the Fez Medina (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981). With over 9,000 winding alleys, this maze-like old city is considered the most beautiful in Morocco. Walking through its narrow lanes feels like stepping into the tales of One Thousand and One Nights. Here you will find the oldest leather tanneries, brass workshops, and textile weavers — all reflecting Morocco’s traditional culture and history. Visit a renowned local leather shop where you may choose from high-quality leather goods.

After breakfast at the hotel, travel to Ifrane, known as the “Little Switzerland of Arabia.” After lunch, continue to Erfoud, passing through the majestic Atlas Mountains, the highest mountain range in Morocco. Upon arrival, switch to 4×4 vehicles and venture into the vast Sahara Desert. You may choose to ride a camel across the endless sand dunes that stretch to the horizon. Conclude the day by watching the breathtaking sunset over the Sahara.

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the most spectacular gorge in North Africa — Todra Gorge, with its towering cliffs rising over 300 meters. In the afternoon, travel through the scenic Dades Valley towards Ouarzazate. This stretch of road is renowned as one of Morocco’s most beautiful desert routes, famously called the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” These kasbahs, once grand residences of powerful local families, were built of reddish clay, most dating back to the 17th–18th centuries. Their majestic presence stands in striking contrast against the desolate desert landscape.

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a complimentary visit to Atlas Film Studio, where numerous major productions were filmed, including Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and Ben-Hur. Continue to Aït Benhaddou (UNESCO World Heritage Site), an ancient Berber village set against the Atlas Mountains and facing the desert oasis. The site has served as the backdrop for films such as Desert City, Star Wars: Episode I, and The Lost Tomb. After lunch, travel along one of Morocco’s most scenic and spectacular routes. By evening, arrive in Marrakesh, the famed “Red City” (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

After breakfast at the hotel, take a coach tour to the famous Bahia Palace, once the largest palace of its time. Construction began in 1859 and was only completed in 1900. It remains the only Moroccan palace open to the public, blending Islamic and Moroccan architectural styles. After lunch, visit the Majorelle Garden, beloved by French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. Continue to Djema el-Fna Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site), home to thousands of stalls offering a variety of local snacks and souvenirs. The square offers a distinctly different atmosphere by day and by night, not to be missed. Enjoy a two-night stay here, ensuring ample time to explore. In the evening, enjoy a complimentary Fantasia Show paired with a sumptuous roast lamb dinner.

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to the Atlantic coastal city of El Jadida (UNESCO World Heritage Site). In the Old Town, visit remnants of the Portuguese colonial period, including the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. Continue onward to Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city. Enjoy an exclusive dining experience at the world-famous Rick’s Café, inspired by the classic film Casablanca, where the romantic atmosphere of the iconic theme song fills the air. Conclude the day with a special farewell banquet before returning to the hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Grand Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in the world after Mecca. Built at a cost of over USD 600 million, this architectural masterpiece can accommodate up to 100,000 worshippers. Later, transfer to the airport for your deluxe flight back to Toronto.
