  • The tour leader will meet the group at Toronto International Airport, and fly to Lima, the capital of Peru.

  • Upon arrival, proceed to the historic center of Lima to visit Plaza San Martín, the Main Square, the Cathedral, and the Presidential Palace. After dinner, check in at the Sheraton Hotel or a similar class hotel.

  • After breakfast, take a boat tour to the Ballestas Islands (also known as Bird Island, home to thousands of seabirds) to admire the spectacular cliffs, unique rock formations, and diverse wildlife such as seabirds, sea lions, and penguins. Continue by coach to Nazca and check in at the local hotel, Hotel Nazca or a similar class hotel.

  • Complimentary: Nazca Airport Aerial Tour (30 minutes, valued at USD 175 including tax).   • After breakfast, take a flight to Juliaca. Upon arrival, transfer by private coach to Puno, a lakeside town on Lake Titicaca. Known as the “Little Switzerland of South America,” Puno is considered the folklore capital of Peru, famous for its indigenous handicrafts. Check in at the Casa Andina Hotel or a similar class hotel (2 consecutive nights at the same hotel).

  • After breakfast, take a boat tour of Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable alpine lake. Visit the Uros Islands, floating islands made of reeds by the indigenous people. Meet the locals who preserve their traditional customs, admire their beautiful handicrafts, and enjoy a warm welcome of songs and dances from the island residents. Continue by boat (about 2 hours) to Taquile Island in the middle of the lake, where you can enjoy distant views of Bolivia’s snow-capped mountains and the legendary Sun Island, birthplace of the Inca civilization. After a traditional homemade lunch, return to the main pier to board the boat back to Puno. Stay overnight at Casa Andina Hotel or a similar class hotel.

  • After breakfast, travel by coach to the border. After crossing customs into Bolivia, continue to the scenic resort town of Copacabana for lunch. At the main square, you may take photos or shop for local handicrafts. The day concludes with a specially arranged spot to capture the beautiful sunset. Price includes: Hotels, international and domestic flights, sightseeing admission tickets as specified in the itinerary, designated meals, professional Chinese-speaking tour leader, bus transportation (4X4 jeeps used for Bolivia Salt Flats).

Price does not include: Travel and medical insurance. Service fee: USD $240 in total for tour leader, local driver, and guides. Visa fees.

Visa: As visa requirements are subject to change, please contact the relevant consulate. The company is not responsible if entry is denied due to visa or passport issues.

Bolivia Visa: Canadian passport holders do not require a visa. Chinese, Hong Kong, and U.S. passport holders may obtain a visa on arrival for USD $100 (for reference only, subject to the actual customs charge at the time).

Peru Visa: Canadian passport holders do not require a visa. Chinese passport holders require a Peru visa (holders of a valid U.S., Canadian, or Schengen visa valid for more than 6 months are exempt).

Booking Terms: A deposit of $500 per person is required upon booking. Balance must be paid in full 90 days before departure. If flight schedules are adjusted, participants may not refuse to travel. Tour price already reflects a 3 percent discount. For credit card payment, please pay the original price. Single room supplement: $1640.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: The company reserves the right to cancel a departure before the departure date. In such cases, a full refund will be provided. The company is not responsible for trip cancellations or changes to departure dates. Participants who cancel or change their booking and group air ticket must notify the company at least 128 days before departure in order to receive a full refund. For cancellations or changes made 91–127 days before departure, $300 will be deducted per person. For cancellations made 61–90 days before departure, group air tickets cannot be canceled; 45 percent of the tour fee will be deducted. For cancellations made 31–60 days before departure, 70 percent of the tour fee will be deducted. For cancellations made within 30 days before departure, 100 percent of the tour fee will be forfeited with no refund.

Notes:

  1. Some areas are at altitudes of 3400–4200 meters. It is recommended to consult your family doctor and prepare altitude medication for 9 days.
  2. The company provides rain boots for the Salt Flats. Please do not bring your own.
  3. For the Ballestas Islands boat trip, bring seasickness pills and a raincoat, as weather conditions are unpredictable.
  4. The highland climate is cold. Please prepare warm clothing and sun protection.

 

Liability: In the event of flight cancellations, delays, natural disasters, strikes, work stoppages, wars, blockades, riots, earthquakes, weather conditions, labor disputes, or political changes beyond the control of the company and its suppliers, the company will not provide any compensation. Any additional expenses for meals, accommodation, or transportation will be the responsibility of the traveler. It is strongly recommended that all travelers purchase travel insurance.
